This physician directed weight loss course presents participants with comprehensive background information and knowledge base. You will learn how to establish a unique and effective weight loss program, specifically designed to be administered by health care professionals under the direction of a physician. This can be an adjunct profit center for a primary care physicians or a conduit for cosmetic surgery and body contouring practice. This is a 100% cash based service since most insurance carriers will not pay for preventative visits. Primary care physicians are adding weight management programs not only for extra income, but also because of how important weight loss is to a patient's health.

This is a useful health benefit for patients to prevent obesity related disorders from diabetes and hypertension to cardiac disease and arthritis. Many traditional cosmetic procedures are only effective in conjunction with weight loss. You will be armed with the knowledge to answer patient concerns regarding several myths and inaccurate information about weight loss and diet programs.

Attendees will be taught a simple goal oriented process to establish a successful program. Objective assessment, monitoring and follow-up are the keys factors in implementing this service to your practice. Simple program individualization based upon common physical and psychological issues come together to increase compliance and decrease recidivism.

Experienced instructors will go over effective marketing and awareness strategies and best business practices to assist participants in expanding into the aesthetic medical field.

If you attend our Las Vegas workshop, held in our weight loss clinic, you will be exposed to setup and layout of a weight loss facility.

Objectives:

• Recognize the basic principles for establishing a successful medical weight loss program.
• Learn to identify the causes of weight gain and make appropriate patient assessment.
• Become familiar with a live initial patient visit/evaluation with our physician.
• Learn how to treat obesity and utilize the “whole person” approach of individualized nutrition, exercise and behavior modification.
• Be exposed to different modalities as part of an effective weight loss program and learn how to combine these different modalities for optimal results; modalities include bio-identical hormone replacement and non invasive cosmetic procedures.
• Understand how to objectively measure key parameters for weight loss and monitor progress.
• Learn how to modify the patient plan when indicated.
• Recognize how to overcome common obstacles to weight loss.
• Learn how to prevent and treat tissue flaccidity as a result of weight loss.
• Understand how to enhance patient compliance.
• Improve assessment skills through demonstration, dialogue and self directed case-studies.
• Learn how to dispense weight loss medications from your facility; process, supplies needed, documentation/record keeping, DEA compliance and wholesale costs.
• Become familiar to different methods to effectively market a weight loss program; Internet, SEO optimization, ad words, local community.
• Participants will receive course manual, resource list, diet & exercise plans, new patient chart and a Certificate of Training upon completion of the course.
